Medical First Aid On Board Ship Refresher Course

TGS-2023700634

What's In It For Me

The Medical First Aid on Board Ship Refresher Course is designed for seafarers who have previously completed the full Medical First Aid training and are required to renew or update their certification to maintain compliance with international maritime standards. It ensures that participants retain the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills needed to provide effective first aid at sea, where access to professional medical care is delayed.

The course provides an updated review of core topics such as casualty assessment, bleeding control, burns, fractures, shock, basic life support (including CPR), and the correct use of onboard medical equipment. It also reinforces best practices in hygiene, infection control, patient monitoring, and communication with onshore medical support.

Conducted in line with STCW Regulation VI/4, Section A-VI/4-1, the refresher course supports ongoing compliance with flag state and IMO requirements. On successful completion, participants receive a renewed certificate, confirming their continued readiness to act as first aid providers on board vessels and offshore installations.
