The PALS Course is designed for healthcare professionals who respond to emergencies in infants and children—whether in the emergency department, intensive care, critical care units, or prehospital settings. It builds upon foundational life‑support skills and is focused on equipping providers with the knowledge and hands‑on competence to recognise and intervene early in paediatric respiratory distress or failure, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest.
Participants will engage in systematic assessment of the paediatric patient, team‑based resuscitation, advanced airway and circulatory management, use of treatment algorithms specific to infants and children, and post‑cardiac arrest care. The course emphasises high‑quality CPR, effective use of defibrillation/monitoring, intra‑osseous access, rapid fluid boluses, and dynamic team leadership and communication. Scenario‑based learning and simulated paediatric emergencies allow learners to apply evidence‑based practices within a high‑performance team framework.
Upon successful completion, participants receive a PALS Provider Course Completion Card (eCard) from the AHA, typically valid for two years.
