The Heartsaver® Bloodborne Pathogens Course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical tools needed to recognise, prevent and respond safely to incidents involving blood or other potentially infectious materials. Whether you work in education, childcare, facilities management, maintenance, or other roles with a risk of exposure, this course emphasises proactive protection and informed action.
Participants will learn how to apply the simple PACT formula — Protect, Act, Clean, Tell — to real‑world situations. They will gain an understanding of how to use personal protective equipment (PPE), adopt universal precautions, handle sharps and spills, manage exposures, and report incidents. The content aligns with current science and regulatory guidelines for bloodborne pathogens and is tailored for flexible delivery — either through a self‑paced online format or an instructor‑led classroom session.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive a certificate (or card) of participation which can be presented to employers or compliance authorities. The Heartsaver® Bloodborne Pathogens Course supports workplace safety requirements and helps organisations build a safer, more responsive environment for managing exposure risk.
