How long is the SRFAC Recognised Mandarin Standard First Aid Refresher certification valid?

The Mandarin Standard First Aid Refresher certification is valid for 2 years. To maintain your qualification for compliance, you must attend a refresher course within 3 months of current certificate expiry.

It allows you to complete the theory portion online at your own pace (6 hours), reducing your time away from work or home. You only need to attend a 6-hour practical session in class.

What is the difference between the Mandarin Standard First Aid Course and the Mandarin Child First Aid Course?

The Mandarin Standard First Aid (SFA) Course provides a solid foundation for managing adult emergencies in the community and workplace. However, the Mandarin Child First Aid (CFA) Course is a more comprehensive "3-in-1" course that includes everything in Mandarin SFA plus specialized modules for infant and child casualties. While Mandarin Child First Aid is mandatory for ECDA-regulated childcare professionals, the Mandarin Standard First Aid Course is laser-focused on adult-centric emergencies. This streamlined approach ensures learners who primarily handle adults, such as sports coaches and office first aiders, complete their training efficiently, without needing to undergo extra child modules.

What specific life-saving skills are covered in the Mandarin Standard First Aid Refresher Course?

You will refresh how to perform high-quality hands-only CPR and AED operations for adults, as well as how to manage choking, asthma attacks, seizures, heat-related disorders and injuries like sprains, bleeding, fractures and burns.

Can I use my SkillsFuture Credits (SFC) or SSG funding?

Yes. The SFAR course is eligible for SSG funding and SkillsFuture Credits. When registering via our Baoza platform, your subsidy is automatically calculated so you only pay the nett fee.

What is the difference between the "Blended" and "Full" classroom course?

Our Blended Learning format is designed for maximum flexibility, giving you the freedom to work the blended portion around your busy schedule. You complete 2 hours of theory online at your own pace before attending just one day of high-intensity practical training in class.

If I wish to become a first aid instructor, does the Standard First Aid Course meet the prerequisites?

The Standard First Aid Course meets the qualifying prerequisites for the entry into the first aid instructor course in Singapore (Standard First Aid Instructor Course). This is sufficient for the first aid provider prerequisites for the Standard First Aid Instructor Course. However, if you eventually intend to teach the Child First Aid Course, you must have a valid Child First Aid Certification. Therefore, it is recommended that all potential instructor candidates take up the Child First Aid Course at the beginning of their instructor journey.

What happens if I miss a session or fail the assessment?

To remain eligible for SSG funding, you must use the Singpass app for attendance and pass all assessments. If these requirements are not met, the trainee or sponsoring company may be liable for the full, non-funded course fee.

How many attempts do I have for the Mandarin Standard First Aid Refresher assessments?

Most Mandarin Standard First Aid Refresher learners succeed on their first try; however, we provide up to 3 attempts to complete all theory and practical assessments successfully.

Is the Mandarin Standard First Aid Refresher Course easy? Will it be difficult to pass the Mandarin SFAR Course?
